Green Buildings

Industrial Hygiene Resources will conduct indoor air quality (IAQ) testing in support of the construction of “Green Buildings.” This testing and demonstration of compliance with the established criteria would allow you to claim the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) 3.2 “Construction IAQ Management Plan, Before Occupancy” credit.

The LEED program considers indoor (air) environmental quality, and allows you two options to claim credit in this area. The “Option A (flush-out procedure)” could be considered, but could certainly delay the occupancy of the building. However, “Option B (indoor air quality [IAQ] testing)” is our specialty and could help you achieve credit in this area.

All testing protocols would be formulated in compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency “Compendium of Methods for the Determination of Air Pollutants in Indoor Air”. Per this requirement, we will perform air sampling for formaldehyde, total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs),4-phenyl-cyclohexene (4-PCH), carbon monoxide (CO), and particulates (PM10).
